what to expect
Heels Helping Heels is a unique and trusted career resource that helps current and former Women and Men’s Carolina Lacrosse student-athletes identify and achieve their career goals faster with actionable career tips, advice, and answers by working 1:1 with accomplished Carolina Lacrosse alumni.
Each incoming Tar Heel is paired with an alum who has volunteered to be their mentor throughout their time at UNC. They are matched with alumni who are deemed to be a good fit based on personality, experience, career interest, and/or geography. These relationships often become lifelong, extending well beyond college lacrosse to offer ongoing personal and professional support.
HHH goes far beyond mentorship. We actively help players build standout resumes and professional LinkedIn profiles -- equipping them to start networking and exploring career opportunities from day one. Our players also benefit from six annual industry Zoom sessions featuring alumni who share insights and opportunities in diverse fields.
A hallmark of the program is the creation of internships by UNC alumni, giving student-athletes critical early experience before applying to more competitive Fortune 500 companies.
Beyond these internships, we maintain a contact list of 100+ alumni who have raised their hands to serve as sounding boards and resources across a dozen industries.
A cornerstone of the HHH experience is our annual networking trip to major cities like Washington DC, San Francisco and New York.
What makes HHH truly special is the positive feedback loop it creates: recent graduates return to share their experience and knowledge, helping the next wave of Tar Heels as they navigate the same journey.
Please note that access to our resources is limited to current or former UNC Women’s or Men’s Lacrosse players. If you qualify, we invite you sign up today. The HHH team is ready to help you achieve your career goals.
